Do You Support Placing AR-15s in Schools?

A school district in Madison County, North Carolina, is putting AR-15 rifles in each of its six schools to bolster security.
“We were able to put an AR-15 rifle and safes in all of our schools in the county,” Sheriff Buddy Harwood told the Asheville Citizen-Times.
“We’ve also got breaching tools to go into those safes. We’ve got extra magazines with ammo in those safes.”

Nice to see they are putting arms in schools to defend our little ones. I would feel more optimistic if they said they trained every teacher and administrator in their safe use. But putting AR-15s there won’t do any good if they are down the hall , in an office, in a safe. Teachers who have a CCW (and are allowed to carry), scattered throughout the school would be a better deterrent. Especially if a shooter didn’t know from where his/her opposition was coming.
