Do You Endorse Trump’s Stance on Making NATO Allies Pay Their Fair Share?
Here’s the Scoop
In a recent electrifying rally in North Charleston, S.C., former President Donald Trump reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to America’s financial and military sovereignty.
Trump, with his eye firmly on a return to the White House, restated a policy that could only be described as both bold and straightforward: If NATO allies do not meet their defense spending obligations, they should not expect the protective arm of the U.S. to cover them.
“NATO was busted until I came along,” Trump said at the rally. “I said, ‘Everybody’s gonna pay.’ They said, ‘Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?’ I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ They couldn’t believe the answer.”
“One of the presidents of a big country, he stood up, he said: ‘Well sir, if we don’t pay, and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’ I said, ‘You didn’t pay, you’re delinquent … no I would not protect you, in fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want,” Trump said.
This stance comes in the wake of comments that sparked concern across Europe, reinforcing Trump’s position as a leader unafraid to challenge the status quo for American benefit.
Trump’s approach to foreign policy, particularly towards NATO, is a refreshing deviation from the norm. It’s rooted in a simple principle: fairness and fiscal responsibility.
By insisting that NATO members pay their fair share, Trump envisions a future where American generosity is respected, not exploited. His perspective offers a stark contrast to current policies that, in his view, leave the U.S. overextended and underappreciated.
In an era where global politics is riddled with complexity, Trump’s clarity and resolve stand out. His policy is not just about defense spending; it’s a call to reevaluate and strengthen alliances on terms that respect American interests and security.
As the U.S. faces the prospect of another election, Trump’s stance on NATO underscores a broader debate on America’s role in the world and the principles that should guide its engagements abroad.

The USA should be fiscally responsible regarding NATO. Those in NATO must pay their fair share to be protected as a member of NATO. Those countries not paying their dues must be left hanging out in the wind! We should not cover their interest if they choose not to pay. The USA should not pay to protect those countries not being fiscally responsible. If a time were to take place when the members think we should pay their share and ours, we need to advise we will leave NATO, and those in NATO again should circle their wagons and do their best to protect themselves, and we should not intercede in whatever their issue!

I fully agree with Mr. Trump. When a nation will not protect itself, it deserves anything that happens to it! You nor anyone can have peace with manifest Hatred.

President Trump will not abandon our NATO allies but they must pay their fair share to protect their own countries. It takes tough talk and actions to apparently make them pony up. No President Trump will not let Putin run roughshod over our NATO allies but they must also help themselves, which means pay up boys.

He won’t abandon our allies? He straight up said he would invite Russia to invade them. While absolutely they should pay what they owe, it is never ok to support Russia invading anyone.

We, the United States of America need/must remove itself from both the United Nations and NATO. President Franklin Roosevelt had it right to be an isolated country during the early years of World War II. Almost all our allies became our greatest enemies (Russia and China) and our enemies became our strongest allies (Germany and Japan). We need to quit funding the ‘welfare nations’ and giving them governing positions in the World Health Organisation and World Court. They our the worst offenders in pollution, and biased votes on world crimes (Ukraine invasion, and Hamas’ attack on Jewish people. These poor nations are influenced by the Arabian oil Sheiks.
