Apple Will Soon Sell Robots. Is It a Waste of Money?

Here’s The Scoop

In another desperate bid to create their “next big thing,” Apple, the tech titan, is delving into the realm of “personal robotics.” According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is working on several projects, one of which involves a “mobile robot” that will stalk users around their homes. Another project, an advanced table-top device, uses robotics to manipulate a display.

Apple’s engineers are supposedly developing a mobile robot that dogs users’ every step, all in the name of privacy. They’ve also conceived an advanced table-top home device that uses robotics to move a display around. Both projects are shrouded in secrecy, so much so that the sources requested anonymity.

The company is also reportedly experimenting with AI algorithms to help these robots maneuver through the mess of everyday life. Apple’s aspiration to create robots that can perform household chores like washing dishes, however, remains a distant dream due to “extraordinarily difficult engineering challenges.”

Apple’s home robot may soon contest with Amazon’s Astro, which functions as a mobile virtual assistant and home security monitor. The table-top device, Gurman suggests, could mimic human head movements during a FaceTime call, but there seems to be a technical hurdle of balancing a robotic motor on a small stand.

These far-fetched robotics projects are in their infancy, and whether they will ever see the light of day remains uncertain. For now, they are nothing more than moonshot ideas. Yet, one must ask, is this the best use of Apple’s resources, or just another expensive distraction?

I am handicapped. No woman wants to date a handicapped man. And I am lonely. So, bring on the sex robots!

I’m sure that, just like anything else sold by the company that stole “Apple” from “Apple Records”, their robots will be vastly overpriced, Chinese-manufactured, intentionally crippled, moderately-useful, extremely over-hyped things made using cheap internals and gimmicky software that Apple will spend millions upon millions of dollars forcing into visibility by “product placement” in everything that comes out of Hollyweird, (like they’ve long done with their laptops, pads, & phones,) and pushing freebies into the clutches of every “influencer” out there. In the end, it will be like their laptops that you see in every movie or tv show but almost never encounter in real life ’cause there are much better, FAR cheaper options out there.
