Trick Williams needed everything to fall into place at Sunday Night’s Main Event to capture the United States Championship for the second time. And that’s exactly what happened in front of a roaring Atlanta crowd.

First, his manager Lil Yachty had to survive five minutes in the ring with Baron Corbin. The rapper held his own despite being put through a table after the bell rang.

Williams earned his title shot immediately after Yachty’s gutsy performance. The State Farm Arena erupted as Williams made his entrance, ready to reclaim what was once his.

Corbin was waiting, and the battle was on.

The match went back and forth from the opening bell. Both men traded forearm shots and double clotheslines, each trying to gain the advantage.

Corbin appeared to have the upper hand when he catapulted Williams into the steel steps and ring post. He grabbed the U.S. title belt during a breather outside the ring.

As Corbin attempted to bring the belt back into the ring, Yachty started a tug-of-war for the championship. While the referee dealt with Yachty, Corbin nailed Williams with the belt and went for the pin.

Williams kicked out.

Moments later, Williams hit the Trick Shot and pinned Corbin for the victory.

This marks Williams’ second United States Championship reign. He first captured the title when he defeated Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42 earlier this year.

He lost the belt to Corbin at SummerSlam but finally got his chance to win it back — and he delivered.

With Money in the Bank on the horizon, Williams will face no shortage of challengers. Carmelo Hayes, Johnny Gargano, and Ricky Saints are all potential contenders looking to make their move.

Americans deserve champions who fight for what’s theirs.
