Even more alarming, 35% of surveyed parents believe schools are doing virtually nothing to address the crisis. While educators push technology integration at every turn, they’re failing to establish meaningful guardrails that protect students from becoming entirely dependent on machines to do their thinking for them.

The implications extend far beyond homework help. When children rely on AI to write essays, solve math problems, and research topics, they never develop the critical thinking skills that built American innovation and excellence. Traditional educational values emphasized hard work, problem-solving, and intellectual persistence. Today’s AI-dependent students are learning the opposite lesson: why struggle when a computer can do it for you? Parents have every right to be concerned. The same technology companies pushing AI integration into every classroom have their own profit motives at heart, not the long-term development of American children. Schools that rush to adopt these tools without proper oversight are doing students a profound disservice.

The survey results should serve as a wake-up call. Families need to take back control of their children’s education and set firm boundaries around technology use. That means limiting AI assistance, encouraging traditional study methods, and demanding that schools prioritize genuine learning over technological gimmicks.
