Do You Support Democrats’ Push For a $50 Minimum Wage?

Here’s The Scoop

Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee, running for late Sen. Diane Feinstein’s U.S. Senate seat, has proposed a ludicrous solution to inflation and high prices: a $50 minimum wage. This outrageous suggestion is seven times the current national minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.

Lee defends her economically unsustainable proposal by citing her experience running a small business, creating “hundreds of jobs, benefits, retirement benefits, [and] also health care benefits.”

She claims that a $50 minimum wage is necessary for Californians to afford the cost of living in the state.

Critics, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), have mocked Lee’s proposal, asking, “Why not $500 per hour?”

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk also ridiculed the idea, saying, “Why not just make the minimum wage a billion dollars an hour? Then we’d all be richer than Elon Musk!”

Kirk further slammed Lee’s economic illiteracy, stating that “every country that adopts it becomes a dystopian nightmare.”

Others have questioned how small business owners could possibly afford to pay their workers such a high wage.

Lee’s absurd call for a $50 minimum wage comes as inflation surges with no immediate signs of relief. It’s clear that Democrats like Lee are out of touch with reality and have no understanding of basic economics. The American people deserve better than this kind of reckless policymaking.

Sure, let’s push the few remaining non-union manufacturing jobs out of the country and line-up for those $15 Big Macs and $8 large fries with 2-hour wait times because McDonald’s can only afford to work 2 or 3 people a shift…

Well, I will start by asking her how do her employees feel after making that kind of money? Surely she has taken a reasonable amount of the money she’s gotten to give it to those who made those profits, right?
That’s what we need to focus on, the workers make the profit for the company, shouldn’t it be/have been a common sense thing? Shareholders get the rest!

When you force wage increases, the increase is absorbed by increasing prices. Ultimately, the workers whose wages were increased gain nothing. Other people and retirees who are on a fixed income are faced with increased costs without an increase in income. That just makes it harder for them to survive.

There wouldn’t be any fast food period. The slaughterhouses and processors couldn’t afford to pay their workers and make a profit, so blink we all starve to death. See how Barbara Lee fared on the California primary. She failed miserably like Nicky Haley against Trump.

Nonsence, the left wingers have lost their minds. This would be the demise of everything the US stands for, but the dems don’t care as long as they win the elections and control the country.

It is obvious to me and everyone else with a brain, liberals do not understand inflation. when you increase the minumum wage the price of products go up. and all consumers pay mor for thier products. Those that already make that after years ofmworking now are at minumum wage. All of those people are now paying three times as much for thier Groceries, gas, utilities and rent. Puting them in poverty. Unable to put food on the table and pay their bills. Those that suggest it is fiesable to raise the minumum wage to 50 dollars an hour are just plain stupid! Those peole should not be in a position of leadership.
