Here’s the Scoop

The calls come after young people turned out in droves to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections.

According to exit polls, 72% of women aged 18-29 voted for Democrats.

“If you’re not a liberal by age 18, you have no heart; and if you’re not a conservative by age 30, you have no brain.”

I’m not sure what dwight’s comment means but it’s obvious that young people don’t really know what politics are about and what the consequences are when you make that vote so I think 21 is a more stable age to make those decisions

I say raise it because people seem to be taking longer to grow up into mature adults.

Them you have to raise the age to join the military to 21. Raise the age tp buy a firearm to 21. This is an absurd idea and it will backfire on the GOP.

Not necessarily- have to be 21 to drink. 21 to buy legal weed.

Not sure that is true. The drinking and smoking age is 21 and 18 year olds are still joining the military.

To change our Constitution (required to raise voting age) we would be denying the vote to our youngest members of the armed service. They are wiling to give up their life for us how can we tell them they don’t deserve the right to vote. The voting age was changed (21 to 18) when I was on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. I can still remember the feeling I had when I made my first vote (1972). we can’t deny the vote to those who serve and we can therefor NOT deny the vote to anyone age 18 to 21.

It has nothing to do with the military. I signed up for the military when was 18.
I could not vote until I was 21.

Yes, raise it to 21, if not older. The 26th Amendment was a huge mistake.

When many young get that first pay check and look at the bite Uncle Sam has taken from their hard earned labor, many start to question how it’s being spent. Liberals love spending other people’s money and that seems to have an impact on many about their political leanings. A little older and wiser about decision making. Kids of yesteryears had to grow and mature much faster. Too many of them today are still living in a comfortable bubble with little responsibility.

College kids have no idea about the History of America. ow can we expect a good honest vote? They, like many in the late 30s voted for those that gave them free stuff. Make voter I D a law too. I hope it is not too late for America.

If someone is old enough to enlist in the armed services, can fight for our country, and even die for it, they should be allowed to vote.
