Should a 4-Day Work Week Be the National Standard?

Here’s the Scoop

Democrats are pushing to make four-day workweeks the national standard.

Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA), the bill’s lead sponsor, argues that the change would give Americans more time “to live, play, and enjoy life more fully outside of work.”

Takano introduced “Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act” to reduce the standard workweek from 40 hours to 32. The bill would amend the definition of the standard workweek in the federal Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 for non-exempt employees — meaning employees who aren’t entitled to overtime when they exceed 40 hours in a week’s time.

Every Business should stay away from issues like the gay-lesbian market. My stand is if someone want’s to be afraid, destroy their body, it’s their body, just don’t push your life style on me and my family. I won’t push my Christian faith on you. That way everyone respects everyone and there’s peace.

In the strictest sense of the word, you are correct. HOWEVER, Jesus told his apostles to spread the word. The word can and must be spread without imposing the will.

If the Democrats want a 32 hr work week, than they should have a 20% reduction in pay. They (Democrates), have enough leisure time walking around the Senate and Congressional floor and conversing with other members about personal items that have nothing to do with running the country.

No, they want 40 hours pay for 32 hours of work. Most businesses would cease to exist.

No one works as it is. Why make it legal? I see people starting their long weekend Holidays on Wednesday. Heck that’s almost a week off. Pretty good for a Gov’t mandated Monday off, turned into 6 days.
This country sucks. People are inherently LAZY!

America was not built by laggards. But it certainly seems headed for destruction by the aforementioned.

I imagine the income would be 20% less………..so a person would have to work another job to make ends meet. Sweeping floors might pay only half as much as the 8 hours lost……so maybe have to sweep an extra day…………soooooo looks like the former 2 days off ……. is now cut to 1 day
off……….but that’s Bidenomics..another well thought out plan that at first blush sounds like
something most dumbbells would jump at. According to the above poll, they amount to about 24%

No, they want a 32 hour work week and STILL be paid for 40. Most businesses would implode.

A 4 day work week would be nice, as long it is 40 hours, or 10 hours a day.
